Cork city is the second-largest city in Ireland and is located on the southwest coast. It has a population of 220,000 and is a vibrant city with a thriving cultural scene known for its friendly and lively atmosphere. Historically, it is an ancient port city founded in the 6th century, built on islands in the River Lee, with a maritime history.
Cork International Airport is 8 km from the city centre (a 10-minute taxi drive from city centre) and has daily connections to some of Europe’s biggest hub airports: London Heathrow, London Stansted, Amsterdam Schiphol, and Paris Charles de Gaulle.
Cork city is approximately a 3.5-hour bus ride from Dublin airport. There are hourly bus connections between Cork city and Dublin airport (Aircoach company).
We have block booked 120 rooms across two apartment blocks (Crow’s Nest and Victoria Mills). Each room is a double en-suite bedroom (with your own door/lock/key), study desk, but you will share a well-equipped kitchen/living room with 3 to 7 other JBS8 participants. These contemporary apartments feature free Wi-Fi, stylish bedrooms, each with a work area and fresh linen provided.

The Kingsley Hotel
30 bedrooms at a rate of €240 B&B (single occupancy) / €260 B&B (double occupancy) per night. Kingsley Hotel is a 20 min walk to the JBS8 lecture venue.
The River Lee Hotel
The River Lee Hotel is 10 min walk to the JBS8 lecture venue and is located just 10 mins from the city centre.
Cork City Centre Premier Inn
Cheaper option but based in the city centre.
~30 min walk to JBS8 venue.
Lots of people use Airbnb in Ireland so this might be an option too.
